BYD has officially shown the cabin of the second-generation Seal 07, and the change is more than a simple refresh. The large China-market sedan now has a cleaner, more premium-looking interior, a 20-speaker Devialet audio system, and a layout that gives more space to passengers. This is not the same BYD Seal sold in Pakistan.
According to a source report, BYD is calling the new interior the “Ocean Rhythm” cockpit. The idea is to make the dashboard feel less crowded while still keeping useful physical controls for the driver and front passenger.
A cleaner cabin with more storage
One of the biggest changes is the removal of the outgoing model’s round crystal gear selector. In its place, BYD has moved the shifter to an electronic stalk behind the steering wheel. That frees up the floating centre console for two angled wireless charging pads, metallic toggle switches and twin cupholders.
The driver gets a digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel and a recess on top of the dashboard for a head-up display. For rear passengers, the redesign matters too. A cleaner console and a longer wheelbase should mean less visual clutter and more usable room inside the cabin.
The audio system is the headline feature
The most eye-catching upgrade is the 20-speaker Devialet sound system. BYD has also used laser-etched metallic grilles on the door speakers, so the audio hardware is part of the cabin styling rather than something hidden away.
The front seats now offer heating, ventilation and pneumatic massage. BYD describes them as zero-gravity seats. Rear backrests have also been redesigned, which should help comfort on long trips.
Bigger body, bigger cabin
The second-generation Seal 07 is larger than before:
- Length: 5,080 mm
- Width: 1,960 mm
- Height: 1,495 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,960 mm
- Lower-output EV: 245 kW, 76.744 kWh LFP battery, 775 km CLTC range
According to the source report, that makes it 85 mm longer and 50 mm wider than the outgoing Seal 07 EV, while the wheelbase has grown by 60 mm. Outside, the car gets BYD’s newer Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 look, with split wave-shaped headlights, semi-hidden door handles and a full-width rear light bar.
EV and PHEV choices
BYD will offer the new Seal 07 as both a pure EV and a plug-in hybrid. The EV versions are listed with different power and battery sizes, while the DM-i hybrid uses a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with an electric motor and a large LFP battery.
The range figures come from different test cycles, so they should not be treated as direct like-for-like numbers:
- Higher-output EV: 300 kW, 88.682 kWh LFP battery, 875 km CLTC range
- DM-i plug-in hybrid: 1.5-litre turbo engine, 115 kW engine output, 160 kW motor, 38.029 kWh LFP battery, 245 km WLTC electric range
The EV models are listed with a 240 km/h top speed, while the DM-i is lower.
What it means for Pakistani buyers
This car is important for Pakistan readers, but only as a signal of where BYD is heading. The Seal 07 is a China-market model, and there is no confirmed Pakistan launch, price or booking plan for it.
Pakistani buyers who want a BYD sedan now should look at the locally available Seal and confirm current price, warranty and charging support directly with BYD Pakistan. According to sources, BYD has not yet shared a Chinese launch date or pricing for the second-generation Seal 07. For now, it looks like a major redesign aimed at the premium end of the market, not just a small update.
