Changan Might Bring a 668 km Electric SUV to Pakistan, And It’s Not Cheap Chinese Anymore

Changan is gearing up to launch the AVATR 11 in Pakistan, a premium electric SUV built with CATL batteries and Huawei’s smart-driving tech. With a massive 116.79 kWh battery, up to 668 km range, 3.9-second acceleration, and 800V fast charging, it challenges BMW and Mercedes EVs at a similar price point. Expected arrival: early to mid-2026.

Word on the street is simple: Changan is getting ready to drop the AVATR 11 here.

This isn’t another budget box on wheels. It's one of the most serious electric SUVs coming out of China right now.

Who Actually Built This Thing

AVATR is a joint company between Changan, battery giant CATL, and Huawei.

Yes, the same Huawei that makes phones and 5G gear. They didn’t just slap their name on it; they built the entire brain of the car.

The Numbers That Make You Stop Scrolling

  • Battery size: 116.79 kWh (bigger than most houses’ daily electricity use)

  • Official range: 668 km on one charge (real-world people are already hitting 550 to 580 km with AC on)

  • 0-100 km/h: 3.9 seconds in the dual-motor version (faster than most Honda Civics on Pakistani roads)

  • Charging: 800-volt system, 10% to 80% in under 25 minutes if you find a fast charger

Inside Feels Like the Future

The dashboard is basically three huge screens that run HarmonyOS (the same software as the latest Huawei phones).

You talk to the car like you talk to Siri, but it actually understands Urdu-accented English and will probably get Punjabi soon.

Level 3 self-driving is built in. That means it can drive itself on the motorway while you look at your phone, legally, at least in countries that allow it. In Pakistan, we’ll probably be stuck on Level 2 for a few years, but the hardware is already there.

How Much Will It Cost Here?

Nobody has said the exact price yet.

In China, the top version sells for around 450,000 yuan, which is roughly 17 to 18 million Pakistani rupees before taxes and shipping.

Add import duties, federal excise, sales tax, and dealer margin, and most people are guessing 28 to 34 million rupees when it lands.

That puts it against BMW iX3 and Mercedes EQB territory. Except those still offer half the range and slower charging.

Will People Actually Buy It?

The same guys who pay 30 million for a Land Cruiser Prado or a BMW X5 don’t blink at fuel bills of 80,000 rupees a month.

Charge this thing at home, and the monthly “fuel” bill drops to 12–15 thousand, even if you drive a lot.

So yes, showrooms are already getting calls.

When Is It Coming?

Changan hasn’t put out an official date. But the car is already being tested on Pakistani roads (people have shared pictures from Karachi port and near the Changan plant).

Realistic guess: bookings open early 2026, first deliveries before mid-2026.

The Honest Take

This isn’t for everyone. It’s big money. Charging stations are still thin outside Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. The service network is growing, but not there yet.

But five years ago, nobody believed a Chinese brand would sell a 10-million-rupee car in Pakistan. Today, MG and Haval are doing exactly that.

AVATR 11 is the next step. It’s China saying, “We don’t just build cheap. We build better.”

And for the first time, a lot of Pakistani buyers are ready to listen. For more updates, visit DrivePK.com
