Haval H6 GT PHEV vs H6 PHEV: Which One Wins in Pakistan?

Same badge. Same price, almost to the rupee. But these two Haval SUVs are not really the same car wearing two outfits.

Sazgar unveiled the H6 GT PHEV at the Pakistan Auto Show in Lahore this September, priced at Rs 12,949,000. The regular H6 PHEV, already on the road since earlier this year, sits at Rs 12,895,000. That is a gap of just Rs 54,000. On a car worth over a crore, that is nothing.

So the price tag will not help you choose. The spec sheet will. And once you read it closely, one number stands out immediately: Haval calls the GT its "most powerful" H6, yet it produces less torque than the standard PHEV. That is the kind of detail worth slowing down for before you sign a booking form.

The Headline Numbers, Side by Side

More Horsepower, Less Torque: What That Actually Means

Horsepower tells you how fast a car can go once it is already moving. Torque tells you how hard it pulls from a stop, up a hill, or through mud.

The GT wins on horsepower, 430 against 360. But the standard H6 PHEV wins on torque by a wide margin, 760 Nm against 642 Nm. That is not a small gap. It is more than 100 Nm.

So calling the GT the "most powerful" variant is true only if you look at one number and ignore the other. If you care about pulling power, towing, or off-road grip, the plain H6 PHEV actually has the edge. The GT's advantage shows up more in outright speed and how the car feels at higher revs.

This is worth checking yourself before you decide. Don't take a marketing line at face value. Ask the dealer for both spec sheets and compare torque, not just the horsepower headline.

Battery and Range: The GT Pulls Ahead Here

Where the GT does clearly beat the standard car is battery size and electric-only range.

The GT carries a 35.43 kWh battery and claims up to 183 km on electricity alone, based on NEDC testing. NEDC numbers usually run higher than real-world figures, so expect somewhat less in daily traffic. Still, that is a big jump from the standard H6 PHEV's 100 km electric range.

If your daily drive is short, under 100 km, the standard PHEV can already cover it without touching the petrol tank. If you drive further or want more buffer before the engine kicks in, the GT's bigger battery gives you room to spare.

Charging also differs slightly. The GT supports up to 48 kW DC charging and 6.6 kW AC charging. The standard PHEV charges from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes on a DC fast charger, and takes about 3 hours on a home AC charger for a full charge. Both are workable for daily use, assuming you have access to a charger.

Design: A Coupe Roof Changes More Than Looks

The GT is a fastback coupe version of the H6. It has a sloping rear roofline, two rear spoilers, a mesh-pattern front grille that Haval calls a "shark-bite" design, and heavy black trim across the wheels, window surrounds and roof rails. Red brake calipers finish the sportier look.

That styling comes from the same platform Haval already sells in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Brazil and South Africa. According to Sazgar, the suspension tuning traces back to work done for the Australian market.

But a sloped roof usually means less rear headroom and a smaller boot opening. If you carry passengers in the back seat often, or you load large items regularly, sit in the GT's rear seat and check the boot before you commit. The standard H6 PHEV keeps a more upright SUV shape, which usually means more usable space in the back.

Drivetrain Character: Sport Coupe vs All-Terrain Hi4

The standard H6 PHEV is built around Haval's Hi4 system, a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup meant to handle a range of terrain, not just tarmac. It has been marketed as the fastest and most powerful locally assembled C-SUV in Pakistan since launch, based on the older comparison point.

The GT, on the other hand, leans into sport-coupe handling. It uses a front and rear motor split, 67 hp and 63 hp, working alongside the 152 hp petrol engine. The tuning goal is speed and road feel, not rock-crawling or deep mud.

So the real choice isn't just about which car has a bigger number somewhere. It is about what you actually drive on. If your routes include rough terrain, unpaved patches, or occasional off-road use, the standard PHEV's torque and Hi4 system fit better. If you want a sportier daily driver mostly on paved roads, with strong electric-only range for city errands, the GT makes more sense.

What Nobody Has Confirmed Yet

Sazgar has not announced the booking amount or delivery schedule for the GT as of this writing. If you are ready to book, ask the dealership directly for these details, along with warranty terms and any waiting period. Prices and specs can shift, so treat every number here as current at the time of Sazgar's announcement, not guaranteed for the future.

Also worth noting: fuel tank size, combined range, and full safety equipment for the GT were not detailed in the initial launch reports. The standard H6 PHEV has a 55-litre tank and a combined range past 1,000 km when you count both fuel and battery. Ask if the GT matches or differs on this point, since a smaller fuel tank paired with a bigger battery could change your total range picture.

Which One Should You Actually Book?

If pulling power, all-terrain ability, and a slightly lower price matter most to you, go with the standard H6 PHEV. Its 760 Nm of torque and Hi4 AWD system are built for that.

If you want sharper looks, more raw horsepower, and a longer electric-only range for city driving, the GT is the better fit. Just don't expect it to out-pull the regular H6 despite the "most powerful" label. That claim only holds up for horsepower, not torque.
