iCAUR V27 Running Cost in Pakistan: 5-Year Guide
iCAUR V27’s huge range isn’t the full story: Pakistani running costs may be Rs 10.17/km on home charging—or Rs 24.98/km on petrol.

The iCAUR V27 may promise a huge combined range, but that headline does not tell Pakistani buyers what it will really cost to run. reportedly the SUV’s day-to-day cost depends far more on charging habits than on its advertised range. If the battery is charged often at home, energy cost can stay near Rs 10.17 per kilometre. If the car ends up leaning on its petrol range-extender more often, the figure can rise to about Rs 24.98 per kilometre.
For buyers already comparing the model with other iCAUR options, this iCAUR V23 vs iCAUR V27 comparison is useful background.
What the V27 is costing at launch
The Pakistan-market iCAUR V27 AWD REEV is listed at Rs 12,499,000 ex-factory. That price is only the car’s starting ex-factory figure, not the full on-road ownership cost. A separate freight and transit-insurance charge of Rs 70,000 is also listed on the published price sheet. For background, read our earlier coverage: Nexgen Officially Launches iCAUR V23 and V27 in Pakistan.
The V27 uses a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, two electric motors and a range-extender setup. In simple words, the petrol engine mainly acts like a generator when battery charge gets low.
Home charging is where the V27 looks cheapest
The vehicle has a 34.31 kWh battery and a claimed 150-kilometre electric range under NEDC testing. Using a 90% charging efficiency assumption and an illustrative electricity rate of Rs 40 per kWh, the running cost works out like this:
- 34.31 ÷ 150 ÷ 0.90 = about 0.254 kWh per km
- 0.254 × Rs 40 = Rs 10.17 per km
- 6.9 × 362 ÷ 100 = Rs 24.98 per km
- Rs 1,016,593 for electric-only use
A full recharge would cost around Rs 1,525, before taxes, charger losses beyond the estimate, or home charger installation costs.
Petrol use can push the cost up fast
When the battery is low, the petrol engine steps in to make electricity. Under the low-state-of-charge assumption used in the report, fuel use is 6.9 litres per 100 km for AWD versions. At a petrol price of Rs 362 per litre, the cost becomes:
A full 60-litre tank would cost about Rs 21,720 to fill at that fuel price.
That is why the V27’s real value depends on how often the owner can charge it. Traffic, speed, hills, air conditioning use and battery level can all change the result.
What 20,000 km a year could mean
Here is a simple estimate for a driver covering about 20,000 km a year:
| Driving pattern | Cost per km | Monthly cost | Yearly cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100% electric driving | Rs 10.17 | Rs 16,943 | Rs 203,319 |
| 70% electric, 30% petrol-supported | Rs 14.61 | Rs 24,349 | Rs 292,191 |
| Low-battery petrol-supported driving | Rs 24.98 | Rs 41,630 | Rs 499,560 |
These are planning figures, not fixed bills. The monthly mileage assumption of about 1,667 km is only a sample number.
Electricity prices can change the whole picture
Even the electricity rate matters a lot. For the mixed-use case, the estimated blended cost changes like this:
| Effective electricity rate | Blended cost per km | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| Rs 30/kWh | Rs 12.83 | Rs 21,384 |
| Rs 40/kWh | Rs 14.61 | Rs 24,349 |
| Rs 50/kWh | Rs 16.39 | Rs 27,314 |
| Rs 80/kWh | Rs 21.73 | Rs 36,209 |
Bills, taxes, fixed charges and public-charging fees can make the real rate different from a simple headline unit price.
Five-year estimate
Over 100,000 km in five years, source calculations put energy cost at:
- Rs 1,460,955 for the 70% electric scenario
- Rs 2,497,800 for petrol-supported use
If the Rs 12,499,000 ex-factory price is added to the 70% electric energy estimate, the total becomes about Rs 13.96 million. That still excludes registration, insurance, tyres, repairs, maintenance, financing, depreciation and charger installation.
Should buyers consider it?
The iCAUR V27 makes sense most for buyers who can charge at home and drive mainly within the battery’s electric range. It becomes much less attractive if the owner depends on the petrol range-extender most of the time.
Before booking, Pakistani buyers should ask for written details on battery warranty, service intervals, local maintenance costs and tyre availability. The car wears 21-inch tyres, so replacement cost and stock should be checked in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other major cities.
For buyers who value low running cost, the key question is not the claimed range. It is how often the car will run on electricity versus petrol.
