Drivers across Pakistan got a small break this weekend. The government cut petrol by Rs2.20 per litre. High-speed diesel dropped by Rs1.50 per litre.
Petrol now sells at Rs327.62. Diesel is Rs380.86. These new rates started on August 8 and stay until August 10. After that, prices will change again based on global oil markets and the value of the rupee.
The Petroleum Division issued the notification. It follows the daily pricing system that OGRA now uses. Prices move almost every day because international rates keep shifting.

For ordinary car owners, the difference is small but real. Filling a 40-litre tank now costs about Rs88 less for petrol. Truck and bus operators save a bit more on diesel. Transport costs affect food and goods prices, so even small drops matter.
The next review comes after August 10. What happens then depends on crude oil prices in the international market and how the rupee performs against the dollar. If global rates fall further, more cuts could come. If they rise, prices will climb again.
