Its a very stressful and painful experience in the crazy traffic of Rawalpindi, breathing in all that smoky air from old buses and cars. What if you could hop on a quiet, green electric bus instead?

Good news the Punjab government is making it real! By mid-October 2025, they'll launch 80 shiny electric buses right in Rawalpindi.

Now the a common question arise in our mind that which routs they linked?

These buses will appear along 10 brand-new routes that cover 86 kilometers, hooking up smoothly with Islamabad's transport system so you can travel easily between the twin cities.

These electric buses will cut down on dirty smoke and help clear the roads by giving folks a better way to get around. Plus, they'll reach spots that the Metro Bus skips, like busy parts of the cantonment, so more people can ditch their private cars and breathe easier. It's all part of Punjab's big plan in the Annual Development Programme for 2025-26, which includes building a new depot on Peshawar Road to hold up to 100 buses and other cool stuff like charging spots.

Rawalpindi's Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema, says this will make life simpler for daily commuters, think students heading to school or workers rushing to offices without the hassle. And it's not just talk; this fits with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's push for green transport across Punjab, including more electric buses in cities like Lahore and Multan. No more waiting in long lines for smoky rides, these buses are comfy, cheap, and kind to the planet.

If you're in Rawalpindi or Islamabad, be updated on these routes starting soon. It'll be a game-changer for beating the heat and the hustle. On Drive PK, we're all about smart moves like this. Check our verified EV listings if you're thinking of going electric yourself.
