Bentley has revealed the Torcal, its first fully electric production model, and the biggest surprise is not the battery or the speed. It is how familiar it looks. According to source reports, Bentley chose a design that still reads like a Bentley SUV, instead of giving its EV a sharp break from the brand’s style. For background, read our earlier coverage: Top Electric Vehicle Companies in Pakistan.

That makes the Torcal feel like the opposite of Ferrari’s wild electric direction, which has been described as the “Anti-Luce.” The idea is simple: Bentley wants electric power without losing the long bonnet, upright nose, broad shoulders and heavy road presence that buyers expect from the badge.

Power Figures That Stand Out

The Torcal S is the headline model. According to sources, it makes 876 bhp and 1,350 Nm of torque, which makes it Bentley’s most powerful production car so far. The standard Torcal is no weak version either, with a claimed 821 PS.

Bentley says the Torcal S can do 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds with Launch Control, while the regular model is claimed to do the same sprint in 3.4 seconds. The battery pack is listed at 113.2 kWh, and the regular Torcal is said to have an estimated range of about 600 km.

Top Gear reporting also says the platform can support charging speeds of up to 400 kW. That may matter a lot to buyers, but only if the charging network can match it.

For Pakistani readers, this is where the real questions begin. No local price, booking plan, launch date or dealer support has been confirmed in the supplied material. So at this stage, the Torcal should be seen as a global reveal, not a Pakistan-market offer.

A Bentley That Still Looks Like a Bentley

The design is the core of this story. Bentley has kept the SUV shape, with the same kind of formal, upright stance that has long defined the brand. The changes are there, but they are careful ones.

The front gets vertical lighting elements and an illuminated three-dimensional grille treatment. The usual twin-round headlamps are gone, but the Torcal still looks conservative next to many other EV concepts. That is the point. Bentley seems to believe its customers want electric power, not a full identity reset.

Inside, the approach is similar. Source reports mention a curved infotainment screen, a dashboard shaped around the Flying B theme, and physical controls for key functions like climate settings. There is also a “Detox” button that simplifies the screen layout.

Bentley has even paid attention to sound. The indicator tone was inspired by a leather-working hammer, the assistant chime uses a crystal-glass note, and there is an artificial V8-style sound for driving. These are small details, but they matter to luxury buyers who still want a sense of occasion.

What It Means for Pakistan

If Bentley ever brings the Torcal here, the main issues will be support and cost. Imported luxury EVs can face heavy duties, uncertain registration costs, limited workshop support and charging limits. A 400 kW charger would also be far beyond what most local users can expect today.

For now, buyers should wait for official market news, warranty terms and service details before taking the Torcal seriously as a purchase option.
