Chery has shown two new SUVs in Wuhu, China, giving Pakistani readers an early look at where the Tiggo line may be heading next. According to a source report at the new models are the rugged Tiggo X7 and the third-generation Tiggo 7. For now, neither SUV has a confirmed Pakistan launch date or local price.

This matters because Chery Master Pakistan already sells the locally assembled second-generation Tiggo 7 PHEV here. The newly revealed model is not a direct replacement in Pakistan yet, but it does show the next step for a nameplate local buyers already know.

Two SUVs, Two Different Jobs

The Tiggo X7 is the first production model in Chery’s new X series. It is aimed at buyers who want a tougher, more adventure-focused SUV shape.

The third-generation Tiggo 7, on the other hand, stays closer to the familiar family-crossover idea. Both were unveiled at Chery’s Global User Summit, according to sources.

Tiggo X7 Looks Built for Rougher Use

The Tiggo X7 measures 4,636 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width and 1,788 mm in height, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase. It also has more than 200 mm of ground clearance and a claimed 700 mm water-wading ability.

Its design is much boxier than the usual Tiggo styling. The SUV gets an octagonal grille, squared wheel arches, roof rails and a more upright stance. Chery says the model will be offered with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, depending on the version and market.

The company is also planning six terrain modes, low-speed off-road assistance and a 540-degree camera view. That should help drivers in tight off-road spots and during water crossings.

What Chery Says About Power

According to the source report, Chery plans hybrid and plug-in hybrid options for the Tiggo X7, with AWD on selected versions. The company has quoted a petrol engine output of 115 kW, or about 156 hp, and 220 Nm of torque. It has also claimed 45.79% thermal efficiency.

Some Chinese-market engine reports mention other turbo-petrol options, but those details are not confirmed for export markets.

Third-Gen Tiggo 7 Is Bigger Than Pakistan’s Current Model

The new Tiggo 7 measures 4,600 mm long, 1,870 mm wide and 1,710 mm high, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase. That makes it larger than Pakistan’s current second-generation Tiggo 7, which is 4,553 mm long and has a 2,670 mm wheelbase.

Chery is calling the design “Natural Energy.” It keeps a tiger-inspired look, but with a shield-style grille, cleaner lines and a claimed drag coefficient of 0.315. A new Gleam Gold colour has also been shown, though it should not be treated as a confirmed Pakistan option.

Chery says more than 80% of the body uses high-strength steel. It is also aiming for a five-star safety result and has planned more than 20 active safety and driver-assistance features. Some navigation-assisted driving functions may depend on local rules and market availability.

What This Means for Pakistani Buyers

For Pakistan, the key point is simple: the new Tiggo 7 is a future-generation model, not a confirmed immediate arrival. Chery Master Pakistan currently offers the second-generation Tiggo 7 PHEV, which reportedly launched in April 2026 at an introductory ex-factory price of Rs 9.499 million. That model has a 342 hp and 525 Nm combined output, an 18.3 kWh battery, front-wheel drive, about 77 km WLTP electric range and around 1,020 km combined range.

Readers who need a locally assembled plug-in hybrid now can still look at the current car. Buyers who want newer styling, a roomier body and the latest driver-assist tech may prefer to wait for an official Pakistan announcement instead of relying on China-only specs.

Bottom Line

The Tiggo X7 is Chery’s new rugged SUV, while the third-gen Tiggo 7 is the smoother, roomier family crossover. For now, Pakistan buyers should treat both as future possibilities, not confirmed local products. If you need a Tiggo 7 PHEV today, the current model still makes sense. If you can wait, hold off until Chery Master Pakistan gives an official update.
