Deepal Just Dropped the L06, And It Drives Like a Supercar
Deepal has unveiled the L06 sedan with Ferrari-style MagneRide suspension, a 3nm cockpit chip, LiDAR autopilot, and up to 1,500 km range. Starting at 134,900 yuan, it’s one of the most advanced and affordable performance EVs in its class.

Changan’s electric brand Deepal launched its new L06 sedan yesterday in Chongqing. The price starts at 134,900 yuan and goes up to 156,900 yuan, that’s roughly $18,800 to $21,800. For that money, you get something that feels a lot more expensive on the road.
The Suspension Comes Straight From Ferrari and Lamborghini
This is the part that made people stop and look twice.
Deepal fitted the L06 with the latest MagneRide suspension from BWI Group, the same tech you find in high-end Ferraris and Lambos. It adjusts the shock absorbers 1,000 times every second. Hit a bump and the car firms up instantly. Lean into a corner and it stays flat. On a twisty road, the L06 feels glued down without beating you up on bad city streets.
And yes, the same factory lines that supply Europe and North America build these units for Deepal.
Looks Sharp, Cockpit Feels Next, Level
Former Volkswagen design boss Klaus Zyciora drew the lines. The car is low, wide, and clean, no fake grilles, no clutter. Inside, you get a 50-inch head-up display that stretches almost across the windshield and a 15.6-inch center screen that tilts toward the driver like a sunflower (that’s actually what they call it).
The real trick is the chip that runs everything. Deepal claims it’s the first car in the world with a 3-nanometer cockpit chip. Translation: menus open instantly, voice commands work the first time, and the LiDAR unit for highway autopilot comes standard on every single L06.
Two Power Choices, Both Impressive
Pick the pure electric version and you get 268 horsepower, 670 km (CLTC) of range, and 10–80 % charge in about 15 minutes.
Or go for the extended-range model. It has a small engine that only charges the battery, never drives the wheels. Total range jumps above 1,500 km when the battery and tank are full. Fill up in three minutes like a normal car, then drive for days without plugging in.
Why This One Feels Different
Most electric sedans at this price feel like appliances with good batteries. The L06 actually wants to be driven hard. The chassis talks to you. The steering has weight. Turn off traction control, and the rear motor will happily step out if you ask it to.
At the same time, it’s quiet and smooth when you just want to cruise home after work.
Who’s It For?
Anyone who thought electric cars were boring now has an answer under $22,000. Young buyers in big cities who want something quick, tech-loaded, and a little bit flashy. People who cover long distances and hate waiting at chargers. Or drivers who simply miss the feel of a proper sports sedan.
Deliveries start next month. If the test-drive cars I’ve seen around Chongqing are anything to go by, the order books are going to stay busy for a while.
