Denza B8 vs Tank 500 PHEV: Which SUV Wins?

The Denza B8 has just made its debut at PAPS 2026, but Pakistan buyers still do not have a confirmed price or launch date. The Tank 500 PHEV, on the other hand, is already on sale at Rs 22,500,000. That makes this less about a full market showdown and more about one key question: is the Denza B8 worth waiting for if you want more power, more luxury and a bigger cabin?

According to a source report, the B8 is the more expensive-looking package on paper, but the Tank 500 PHEV is the only one you can buy right now:

Price and availability come first

For now, the Tank 500 PHEV wins the practical race because it is already launched in Pakistan. The Denza B8 has only been unveiled, and its local price is still not announced.

Bigger body, bigger cabin

The Denza B8 is the larger SUV. It measures 5,195 mm long, 1,994 mm wide and rides on a 2,920 mm wheelbase. The Tank 500 PHEV is smaller at 5,078 mm long, 1,934 mm wide and has a 2,850 mm wheelbase.

In simple terms, the B8 should feel roomier inside, especially for families and rear passengers. It also offers up to 633 litres of boot space, while the Tank 500 PHEV is a seven-seater with 213 mm ground clearance. In Pakistan, that extra size can help with long trips and luggage, but it can also make city parking and tight lanes more stressful.

Power gap is clear

Both SUVs use a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with electric support and four-wheel drive. But the numbers are not close.

• Denza B8: 603 hp, 760 Nm, claimed 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds

• Tank 500 PHEV: 402 hp, 750 Nm, claimed 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds

Torque is nearly the same, but the Denza has far more power. That should make it quicker and stronger in passing, even in a large SUV body.

Battery and range stay close

The battery story is more balanced. The Denza B8 uses a 36.864 kWh pack and claims 115 km of NEDC electric range and 1,040 km combined range. The Tank 500 PHEV has a slightly larger 37.1 kWh battery, 120 km NEDC electric range and 950 km combined range, along with 6.6 kW AC and 60 kW DC charging claims.

On paper, the Tank edges the Denza in EV range by just 5 km. Real-world use, traffic and charging habits will matter more than those small numbers.

Cabin tech and comfort

Inside, the Denza B8 looks more premium. It gets a 17.3-inch screen, 18-speaker Devialet audio, digital rear-view mirror, night vision, boss seats, powered leg rests and a 7-litre heating and cooling refrigerator.

The Tank 500 PHEV still looks well equipped with a 14.6-inch display, 12.3-inch instrument cluster, Nappa leather, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a 12-speaker Infinity sound system. For many buyers, that will already feel luxurious.

Which one fits Pakistani buyers better?

The Denza B8 is for buyers who want the stronger engine, richer rear-seat comfort and more premium tech, and who are willing to wait for price and launch details. The Tank 500 PHEV suits buyers who want a large plug-in hybrid SUV now, with a confirmed price and immediate availability.
