Jetour T2 Facelift Gets 173 km EV Range in China

Jetour has launched a facelifted T2 in China, where the SUV is sold as the Traveler 7, with cleaner styling, updated cabin tech, and new petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains. According to a source report, the top PHEV version can now travel up to 173 km on electric power under the WLTP cycle. For Pakistani buyers, the important part is this: there is no confirmed Pakistan launch, local spec, or price for the facelift yet.

The timing matters because the T2 is still fresh in Pakistan. Buyers who are already looking at Jetour’s boxy SUV now have a new question to think about — buy the current car, or wait and see if the newer version reaches here later.

Jetour T2 Facelift: The Numbers Pakistani Buyers Need to Know

According to sources, the China-market prices start at 149,900 yuan for petrol versions and 159,900 yuan for the plug-in hybrid. The higher PHEV trim goes up to 179,900 yuan.

The facelifted PHEV comes with two battery choices:

• 26.61 kWh battery with 108 km WLTP range

• 45.12 kWh battery with 173 km WLTP range

The hybrid setup still uses a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with 153 hp and 220 Nm, plus an electric motor rated at 307 PS. For Pakistan, the current T2 i-DM reference remains the older setup with an 18.4 kWh battery and around 90 km claimed NEDC range.

Cleaner Styling and a More Tech-Focused Cabin

The facelift keeps the T2’s square, off-road look but softens some of the rough edges. The front now gets round headlights linked by a full-width light bar. The Jetour name sits higher on the bonnet, while the bumpers and wheel-arch pieces now match the body colour better.

At the back, the SUV gets a revised spoiler, a smoother D-pillar area, and a new rear bumper. The overall result is a cleaner look without losing the T2’s tough shape.

Inside, the layout is mostly familiar, but the tech list is strong. According to the source report, it keeps the 10.25-inch digital cluster and 15.6-inch infotainment screen, while adding a Snapdragon 8255 processor, 24 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, wireless charging, AI voice controls, 10-way power seats, 8-point massage, 23-speaker audio, and 256-colour ambient lighting.

Petrol and PHEV Changes That Matter

The petrol range also gets attention. The base 1.5-litre turbo makes 184 PS and 290 Nm with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and front-wheel drive. The stronger 2.0-litre turbo versions produce 250 hp and 390 Nm, use all-wheel drive, and the top trim now moves to an 8-speed automatic.

The bigger change is in the PHEV. It now uses a single electric motor and a 1-speed dedicated hybrid transmission instead of the older three-speed DHT setup.

Why This Matters for Pakistan

A larger battery could mean more daily driving on electricity, which may help urban users cut petrol use. But WLTP and NEDC figures are not the same, so the China number should not be treated as a direct Pakistan-use figure.

Buy Now or Wait?

If you want a locally assembled PHEV now, the current T2 i-DM may still make sense. According to the source report, its ex-factory price is Rs. 12,795,000. The 2.0 XWD is listed at Rs. 13,590,000, while the 2.0 XWD Dominator Kit costs Rs. 15,590,000.

If your priority is a newer cabin and longer EV range, waiting could be wise — but only if you are fine with uncertainty.
