Pakistan’s premium bike market may be heading toward a big shift. According to sources, Buraq Automobile is planning a motorcycle assembly plant in the country, with production expected to start in January 2027. For buyers who have been looking at high-priced imported motorcycles, the move could bring a meaningful price drop if the plan stays on track.

According to a source report at https://propakistani.pk/2026/10/27/major-italian-brands-bikes-to-be-assembled-locally-in-pakistan/, Buraq Automobile’s CEO Mobeen Ahmed said the plant is expected to be ready by December, after which production should begin in January 2027. The company already imports and distributes Benelli, Moto Morini, and QJMOTOR motorcycles in Pakistan.

Moto Morini to Lead the First Assembly Phase

The first bikes to be assembled locally are expected to come from Moto Morini. According to sources, the opening model will be the Alltrhike 450 adventure bike, followed later by a 300cc model. The company also plans to assemble one more international brand, but its name has not been shared yet.

For buyers, the main appeal is price. The report says the fully imported Moto Morini Alltrhike 450 is priced at Rs. 26 lakh. Under local assembly, the tentative price is expected to fall to Rs. 19.95 lakh. That would be a difference of about Rs. 6.05 lakh, or roughly 23 percent.

That is a big number in a market where premium bikes are already out of reach for many riders. If local assembly works as planned, some buyers in cities like Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad may finally see more realistic prices for a bike segment that has mostly relied on full imports.

Duty Relief Could Cut Prices Further

The possible savings may not end there. According to sources, Buraq Automobile believes prices could come down further if the government approves a proposed policy that would reduce duties on completely knocked-down, or CKD, motorcycle kits.

Mobeen Ahmed reportedly said the company would pass any extra duty relief on to buyers. But this part is still only a proposal. It is not an approved policy, so riders should not treat it as guaranteed savings.

This matters because the final price of any locally assembled bike will still depend on duties, taxes, exchange rates, parts costs, dealer margins, and how many units the company can actually produce.

EFI Bikes May Offer Better Efficiency, but Service Support Matters

The plan also includes locally assembled electronic fuel injection, or EFI, motorcycles. According to the report, Buraq Automobile expects EFI bikes to bring better fuel economy, stronger acceleration, and more power than simpler carburetor-based models.

That sounds attractive, but there is a practical side too. EFI bikes need proper diagnostic tools and trained technicians. In many parts of Pakistan, that support is still limited. Buyers should check service-centre coverage, spare parts availability, and warranty terms before placing a booking.

If you are comparing premium bike options now, it may also help to watch broader motorcycle market trends in Pakistan, such as Pakistan Motorcycle Sales April 2026: Atlas Honda Leads Strong Market Growth and Millat Tractors Explores Electric Bike Production in Pakistan.

What Buyers Should Watch Next

The biggest risk is delay. Plant construction, commissioning, policy changes, rupee pressure, and CKD costs could all push prices or launch timing away from the current plan. Low production volumes could also keep dealer prices high at the start.

For now, the safest approach is simple: do not book on hopes alone. Wait for the official price sheet, confirmed delivery timing, and after-sales details before making a decision.

If the plan moves ahead as reported, local assembly could make Moto Morini and other premium bikes more accessible in Pakistan. But for buyers, the real test will be whether the lower price comes with reliable support after purchase.
