Looks like Pakistan’s EV scene is about to get a little more exciting. A fresh batch of Wuling Binguo EVs, the compact electric hatchback that’s been making waves in China and Indonesia, has just landed at Karachi Port.
Footage circulating online shows several units parked alongside MG ZS EVs, sparking talk that the launch might not be far off. Both vehicles come from the same parent group, SAIC GM Wuling (SGMW) Motors which adds even more weight to the rumor.
What Makes the Wuling Binguo EV Special?
The Binguo EV is small, stylish, and built for city life. It’s already earned a solid 5.8% share in China’s BEV market, thanks to its mix of affordability, comfort, and practicality.
In Indonesia, it starts at around PKR 4.7 million, but local prices in Pakistan are expected to be higher once duties and taxes kick in. Even then, it could still be one of the more budget-friendly electric cars in Pakistan, especially compared to premium EVs like the MG ZS or BYD Dolphin.
A Step Toward Greener Mobility
If launched, the Binguo EV could play a big role in making electric vehicles in Pakistan more accessible. Compact EVs like this fit perfectly in our cities easy to park, quiet to drive, and far cheaper to charge than filling up a fuel tank.
Pakistan’s EV market is slowly growing, and the arrival of the Wuling Binguo hints that global automakers are starting to take notice. Whether it officially launches this year or not, one thing’s clear. Pakistan’s electric future is rolling closer to reality.
