Pakistan’s REEV market has moved far beyond the first few test cases. In 2026, buyers can now see a sedan, a pickup and a high-output SUV carrying the same basic idea: an electric motor does the driving, while a petrol engine works as a generator when the battery needs help.
That sounds useful on paper, but many buyers still ask the same question: does a REEV really solve intercity charging problems in Pakistan, or does it just add more cost and mechanical complexity? According to a source report: the answer depends a lot on how and where the car will be used.
What is officially in the market?
The REEV story in Pakistan did not start in 2026. The Forthing Friday REEV arrived in 2025 and helped introduce the format to local buyers. Deepal S05 followed with its price announcement on October 31, 2025. This year, the lineup expanded further.
According to a source report: XPENG L03 REEV opened bookings in July 2026. Its listed ex-factory price is now Rs. 11.5 million, after an earlier pre-launch figure of Rs. 10.7 million. The same report says Changan Nevo Hunter launched on August 20, 2026, at Rs. 10.9 million, while iCAUR V27 arrived on September 17, 2026, at Rs. 12,499,000 ex-factory.
That means REEV is no longer limited to one body style. It is now spreading across sedans, pickups and SUVs.
Why the new models matter
The XPENG L03 matters because it gives sedan buyers a REEV choice instead of yet another crossover. According to the source report, it uses a 37.25 kWh battery, a 1.5-litre petrol range extender, rear electric drive, and claims up to 250 km electric range and 1,150 km combined CLTC range.
The Changan Nevo Hunter is important for a different reason. It is described as Changan’s first local pickup, and that makes the REEV idea more practical for users who need cargo ability and longer-distance flexibility.
The iCAUR V27 goes even further. The source report says it uses a 1.5-litre turbo petrol generator, a 34.31 kWh battery, dual electric motors and AWD, with 449 hp and 505 Nm. It also claims 150 km electric range and about 1,000 km combined NEDC range.
What buyers should keep in mind
A REEV is still not a simple EV. It has a battery, an electric motor, an engine and a fuel system. That can help drivers who can charge at home or work but still need to cover long trips between cities like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
But there is a catch. If a buyer rarely plugs in, the running-cost advantage may shrink. Public charging still matters because a REEV works best when the battery is charged often, not when the petrol generator is doing most of the work.
There are also practical risks. Final prices can change with exchange rates, taxes and import costs. Service support, battery warranty, generator maintenance and spare parts should be checked before booking. Claimed CLTC and NEDC range figures also should not be treated as equal.
What is still coming?
Two more names are being watched closely. According to the source report, the Jaecoo J6 REEV has been confirmed for Pakistan in rear-wheel-drive form, but it has not officially launched on the expected timeline. Arcfox T5 REEV is also being prepared for Pakistan, though its price and delivery date are not confirmed yet.
So REEV in Pakistan is no longer a small experiment. It is turning into a real segment, with different sizes, prices and buyer targets. For now, the smartest move is to choose based on charging access, travel pattern and after-sales support — not range claims alone.
