Pakistan Petrol Diesel Prices Rise Again OGRA Update
Pakistan raised petrol by Rs 3.34 to Rs 334.54 per litre and diesel by Rs 5.27 to Rs 395.69. The change takes effect from 19 August under the daily pricing system. Drivers and transporters face higher costs once more as international oil moves keep pushing rates up.

Pakistan has raised petrol and diesel prices again. The latest OGRA update shows petrol up by Rs 3.34 to Rs 334.54 per litre. High-speed diesel rose by Rs 5.27 to Rs 395.69 per litre. These rates apply from 19 August 2026.
The jump follows a similar increase the day before. On 18 August petrol moved from Rs 325.43 to Rs 331.20. Diesel went from Rs 383.95 to Rs 390.42. Back-to-back rises leave many drivers counting every rupee at the pump.
Current Fuel Rates
| Fuel Type | Old Price (Rs/litre) | New Price (Rs/litre) | Increase (Rs) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | 331.20 | 334.54 | 3.34 |
| High-Speed Diesel | 390.42 | 395.69 | 5.27 |
The government shifted to daily price reviews earlier this year. OGRA now sets rates using a seven-day average of international oil prices, the rupee’s value, and other costs. The goal is faster reaction to global changes. Dealers have raised concerns about the daily system, but it remains in place.
Recent Daily Price Movement
Fuel rates have moved up and down since the daily system started. The overall trend in recent weeks shows steady pressure, especially on diesel.
| Date | Petrol (Rs/litre) | Diesel (Rs/litre) |
|---|---|---|
| 19 August | 334.54 | 395.69 |
| 18 August | 331.20 | 390.42 |
| 13 August | 325.43 | 383.95 |
| 12 August | 324.98 | 382.79 |
| 11 August | 325.92 | 382.25 |
| 10 August | 327.62 | 380.86 |
| 6 August | 329.82 | 383.36 |
| 3 August | 331.95 | 389.93 |
Since daily pricing began in mid-July, petrol has climbed more than Rs 22 overall. Diesel has risen over Rs 66. Prices peaked much higher earlier in the year during global oil spikes, but the recent climb still hurts.
What This Means for Everyday Costs
Petrol is used mainly by cars, motorcycles, and rickshaws. Higher rates raise daily travel costs for office workers, students, and small traders. Diesel powers trucks, buses, and many generators. Transport firms and farmers feel the pressure first. Goods prices often rise a few days later as delivery costs increase.
Taxes and duties stay high. On petrol they total about Rs 114 per litre. On diesel the figure is around Rs 100. These fixed amounts form a large part of the final pump price.
People check rates almost every day now. The daily system brings more transparency but also more uncertainty. One day the price drops a little. The next day it climbs again. Many households have already cut non-essential trips and look for cheaper transport options.
The latest numbers come straight from the Petroleum Division notification based on OGRA’s review. Rates can change again tomorrow under the same rules. For the moment, the higher figures of Rs 334.54 for petrol and Rs 395.69 for diesel are what drivers will see at the pump. For more updates, visit DrivePK.com
