Pakistan’s latest fuel price revision takes effect on 5 November 2026 only. Under the new rates, petrol is now Rs362 per litre after a Rs7.06 cut, while high-speed diesel stands at Rs387.81 per litre after a Rs3.71 reduction, reportedly and the OGRA notification page at
The change gives motorists some relief after a series of price swings in recent weeks. For petrol users, the saving is Rs7.06 per litre compared with the previous rate of Rs369.06. Diesel users will save Rs3.71 per litre from the earlier price of Rs391.52. The actual monthly benefit will still depend on how much fuel a vehicle uses, how far it is driven, and whether it runs on petrol or diesel.
New rates effective on 5 Nov 2026
| Fuel | Previous price | New price | Cut |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | Rs369.06/litre | Rs362/litre | Rs7.06 |
| High-speed diesel | Rs391.52/litre | Rs387.81/litre | Rs3.71 |
These are not permanent prices and should be treated as the rate for the stated date only. Future revisions can move up or down again.
Why the prices came down
Reportedly, the latest cut follows a drop in international oil prices. Brent crude was reported at around $100.40 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate was around $93.08 per barrel. Those market moves add pressure on local pricing, but they do not alone decide the final retail rate.
The reports also say the government is still collecting about Rs114 per litre on petrol and Rs100 per litre on diesel through taxes and duties. That means the consumer price is shaped not only by global oil trends, but also by the tax structure at home.
Refineries, taxes and the public impact
Reportedly, a 30-day arrangement is in place under which local oil refineries are absorbing a combined impact of about Rs15 billion. That support is being used to keep the consumer-end petrol price lower than it might otherwise have been. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik also said a similar mechanism is being considered for LPG, but that should be seen as a proposal, not a confirmed long-term policy.
For daily commuters, the immediate impact is simple: fill-up costs are a bit lighter today. For private car owners, the relief may feel modest on a single tank, but over a month it can add up if the vehicle is used daily. Diesel users, especially commercial operators and utility vehicle owners, should note that the cut is smaller than petrol’s, so operating costs will still need careful tracking.
What drivers should do now
If you need fuel on 5 November 2026, use the published rates for your budget planning. If you drive often, estimate your savings based on your normal monthly litres instead of expecting a big overall drop.
Prices can change again in the next review depending on:
- international oil prices,
- exchange-rate movement,
- taxes and duties,
- refinery costs,
- and whether the current arrangement continues.
